ISEE Parificato Documents for DSU Scholarship 2027: Pakistan, India & Bangladesh

ISEE parificato documents checklist for DSU scholarship 2027 from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh

Your ISEE parificato checklist for the DSU scholarship 2027

Every international student who wants a DSU scholarship, free tuition or a reduced fee in Italy needs an ISEE parificato. Pick your country to jump straight to the documents your family must collect.

Most students who lose the DSU scholarship don’t fail on merit. They fail on paperwork: an income certificate for the wrong year, a property document without square metres, a missing apostille. This guide lists the ISEE parificato documents students from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh need for 2027/28, which office issues each one, and how to get them legalised and translated in time. It’s based on the official 2026/27 guides from Ca’ Foscari, IUAV and EDISU Piemonte.

ISEE parificato documents list (quick answer)
  1. Family composition certificate listing every family member, their date of birth and their relationship to you.
  2. Income certificate for each adult family member for the reference year, in local currency (or 12 monthly payslips).
  3. Property certificate listing all buildings owned at 31 December, with square metres, or a certificate of no property.
  4. Bank certificates showing the balance at 31 December and the average balance for the year, for every account.
  5. Your passport, codice fiscale and signed delegation form for the CAF.
  6. Death or divorce certificates if they apply to your family.

Every document must be apostilled (Pakistan, India and Bangladesh are all in the Apostille Convention) and translated into Italian.

What is ISEE parificato, and why does it decide your scholarship?

ISEE (Indicatore della Situazione Economica Equivalente) is Italy’s way of measuring a family’s financial situation. Italian families get it from the tax system. Families abroad can’t, so Italy uses the ISEE parificato: a CAF (an authorised tax assistance centre) calculates an equivalent figure from your family’s foreign documents.

Your ISEE parificato is used to decide whether you get the DSU regional scholarship, how much you receive, and how much tuition you pay at many Italian public universities. The lower the figure, the more support you get. Without it, you’re placed in the highest fee band and can’t receive a DSU grant. See our full guide to getting a scholarship in Italy for the bigger picture. Each region sets its own ISEE and ISPE limits: compare them in our DSU scholarship by region guide.

Which year’s income and assets do you need for 2027/28?

This is the most common mistake. The ISEE uses older figures, not this year’s. For 2026/27, Ca’ Foscari and IUAV asked for 2024 income and assets at 31 December 2024. Following the same pattern, most regions will ask for these figures for 2027/28:

2025Income of each adult family member (full calendar year)
31 Dec 2025Bank balances, plus the average balance for 2025
31 Dec 2025Property owned, with square metres
Check your region. Rules vary. EDISU Piemonte, for example, asked non-EU students for the more recent year (2025 income for 2026/27). Always confirm in your region’s DSU call (bando) before collecting documents. Not sure which region you’ll study in? Our eligibility checker matches you with universities in a minute.

Office names vary by province and state. What matters to the CAF is that each document comes from the competent authority, shows amounts in local currency and refers to the correct year.

🏠 Quick property value checkItalian rules value buildings abroad at a conventional €500 per square metre (as stated by Ca’ Foscari and IUAV). Enter your family home’s size to see what the CAF will count:
m² = €0
1 marla ≈ 25 m² (varies by area) · 1 sq ft ≈ 0.093 m² · 1 katha (Bangladesh) ≈ 67 m². This is only an estimate; the CAF applies further deductions and family-size scales.

How to get ISEE parificato: 5 steps

Confirm your region and reference year (Feb – Mar). Once you know your university, read your regional DSU call (bando) or your university’s ISEE page. It tells you the year, the CAF to use and the deadline. Our 2027/28 deadlines guide and September 2027 intake timeline help you plan.
Collect documents in your home country (Mar – May). Family composition, income for every adult, property and bank certificates. Ask each office to state amounts in local currency and property area in square metres.
Apostille every document (May – Jun). MOFA in Pakistan, MEA in India, MOFA in Bangladesh. Apostille the original, then translate it, so the translation covers the apostille too.
Translate into Italian. Use a legally recognised translator. Some agencies (for example EDISU Piemonte) accept certain documents, such as family composition or bank certificates, in English, so check your region before paying for translations.
Upload to the CAF and add it to your DSU application (Jul – Sep). Upload to the CAF portal your university or regional agency uses (Ca’ Foscari accepts no other way), sign the delegation form and add a clear email address. The CAF emails you the ISEE parificato, which you then use in your DSU application. It expires on 31 December of the year it’s issued.

7 mistakes that get ISEE files rejected

Wrong yearUsing this year’s salary instead of the reference year the call asks for.
Amounts in eurosIncome must be in local currency (PKR, INR, BDT). The CAF converts it.
No square metresProperty documents must show area or market value. “One house” isn’t enough.
A parent left outBoth parents’ income is normally required, even if one lives elsewhere, unless you qualify as independent.
Bank “no balance” letterEDISU Piemonte doesn’t accept a bank letter as proof of no savings; it asks for a notarised affidavit.
Missing apostilleA notary stamp or embassy attestation alone isn’t enough for these three countries.
Starting too lateApostille and translation can take 4–8 weeks. Families who start in July often miss DSU deadlines. Start right after you apply to universities.

Can you apply as an independent student?

Yes, but only if you meet both conditions in the university guides. You must have lived outside your family’s home for at least 2 years, in a property not owned by a relative. You must also have earned at least €9,000 a year from declared employment in each of the last 2 years. If you meet only one condition, your parents’ income and assets are counted. Most students coming straight from a Bachelor’s or 12th class apply with their family’s ISEE.

ISEE parificato FAQ

What documents are required for ISEE parificato?

A family composition certificate, income certificates for each adult family member, property certificates with square metres (or a no-property certificate), bank certificates showing the 31 December balance and yearly average, your passport, codice fiscale and a signed CAF delegation form. All must be apostilled and translated into Italian.

Do ISEE documents from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh need an apostille?

Yes. All three countries are in the Hague Apostille Convention, so documents need an apostille from MOFA (Pakistan), MEA (India) or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Bangladesh). An Italian embassy stamp isn’t needed.

Which year’s income is used for ISEE parificato 2027/28?

Most universities use income from two years earlier and assets at 31 December of that year, so 2025 figures for 2027/28. Some regions, such as Piedmont, ask non-EU students for the more recent year. Always check your regional DSU call.

How long does it take to get ISEE parificato?

Collecting documents, apostille and translation usually take 4 to 8 weeks in your home country. The CAF then issues the certificate, often within a few weeks. Start in spring to meet summer DSU deadlines.

When does an ISEE parificato expire?

An ISEE parificato expires on 31 December of the year it was issued, so you need a new one each year you apply for DSU.

Can I get ISEE parificato as an independent student?

Only if you have lived away from your family’s home for at least 2 years and earned at least €9,000 a year from declared employment in each of those 2 years. Otherwise your family’s income and assets are used.
